Mercedes Palermo.,RN

Public Health Nurse

Dr. Kyla Baird, C. Psych

Clinical Psychologist

This joint clinician–parent presentation explores ARFID and neurodivergence through lived family experience and a neuroaffirming clinical lens. We will examine how neuroaffirming care in assessment and treatment meaningfully translates into at-home feeding strategies, including responsive feeding, parent- and child-led interventions, and demand-reduction approaches for PDA-profile ARFID. Participants will leave with concrete ways to align therapeutic goals with nervous-system safety, family realities, and developmental needs — strengthening collaboration rather than increasing pressure around food.

Date: May 8th, 2026

Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

Location: Microsoft Teams

This presentation is intended for allied health professionals, teachers & parents
