Meet the Team

Lauren McArthur, RP

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
(she/her)

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) completing my practicum placement at WonderTree for my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree at Yorkville University. I practice under the clinical supervision of Amanda Gardiner, Registered Psychotherapist. I love working with children, adolescents, and their families, supporting them through their development when coping with big emotions, communication, self-understanding, and attachment is still growing. I work from a relational perspective, recognizing the importance for the development of rapport to earn the trust of my clients. My goal is to foster a safe, warm, and welcoming environment where my clients feel comfortable, confident, valued, and heard. I am currently training in CBT and Narrative Therapy which would be applied in session with my clients following the development of strong rapport and trust.

I have previous work and volunteer experience working with children and adolescents, including neurodivergent youth. I also possess work experience within the realm of mental health intake services, including crisis support, by connecting individuals to ongoing mental health services or immediate support. These experiences have reinforced my dedication to expressing empathy, understanding, and compassion not only as a clinician, but as a human being. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, learning, and spending time with animals.

I am excited to continue learning and growing in this field, with future desires to specialize in neurodivergent child and adolescent mental health. I am looking forward to working with and supporting the children and families of WonderTree!
