Meet the Team

Sarah Breckenridge, M.A., C. Psych

School Psychologist
(she/her)

As a school psychologist, I work with children, adolescents, and their families to identify sources of strength and use those strengths to improve areas of need. I believe in the importance of early intervention to reduce challenges later in life and because families know their children best, intervention is most effective when we work as a team!

At WonderTree, I provide assessment and treatment for a range of developmental, learning, and mental health needs that can impact academics, social skills, and/or emotion regulation. I work with children and adolescents who are neurodivergent in many ways (autistic, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, anxiety, depression, and behaviour dysregulation). Relationships are important to me, so I strive to create an environment with my clients that celebrates their individual backgrounds, unique experiences, and goals for intervention. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each person, drawing from evidence-based interventions like CBT and ACT, along with the humanistic lens of person-centered therapy. With the client’s goals in mind, I also support executive functioning and the development of social skills, life skills, and behaviour plans.

Outside of the clinic, I work as a school psychologist for the Peel District School Board, focusing much of my work on advocacy for autistic students and developmental delays. Outside of work, I enjoy being active – spending weekends at the gym, exploring nature, or taking my fur baby, Oliver, to the dog park.

*Sarah also provides psychoeducational consultation to parents including Individual Education Plan (IEP) review, recommendations to improve individualized programming, and parent advocacy support. Because Sarah works at the Peel District School Board (PDSB), she is unable to see students currently registered at PDSB as this is a conflict of interest.
