Twice-Exceptional (2e)

At WonderTree, we recognize that being twice-exceptional isn’t a contradiction, it’s a reflection of the beautiful diversity in how brains work. Our role is to help individuals and families better understand, support, and celebrate these differences. Our team of clinicians work to ensure supports reflect each individual’s authentic needs and strengths. Some services may be covered by private insurance or OAP funding.

What is Twice-Exceptional (2e)?

Twice-exceptional (2e) individuals are gifted children who also have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, or other neurodevelopmental differences. They often show remarkable strengths in creativity, reasoning, or problem-solving while facing challenges in other areas, such as organization, attention, or written expression. These uneven learning profiles can make it difficult for others to see the full picture, where exceptional abilities and unique support needs exist side by side. Understanding both is essential to helping twice-exceptional learners feel capable, valued, and empowered to reach their potential.

"Strengths and struggles can coexist - and both deserve to be seen."
