Emotion Dysregulation
Our team of clinicians, including social workers, psychotherapists, and psychologists have deep experience supporting children and teens who face challenges with managing big emotions. We take a warm, collaborative approach to help each young person recognize what they’re feeling, understand their emotional patterns, and learn practical tools for staying grounded and in control. Through therapy or targeted coaching, we aim to create a space where kids feel supported, not judged, as they build confidence in navigating intense emotional moments. Some services may be covered by private insurance or OAP funding.
Emotion Dysregulation
At WonderTree, we understand that difficulties with emotion regulation are not simply “acting out” or being “too sensitive”, they are often signs of a nervous system under stress. Emotion dysregulation can look like frequent outbursts, difficulty calming down, intense reactions to small problems, or feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day challenges. These experiences can impact relationships, learning, and a child’s sense of safety and confidence. With the right support, children and youth can learn to recognize their emotions, understand what their body is telling them, and build tools to respond rather than react.
Big feelings need safe spaces.

Executive Functioning Coaching
Executive functioning skills are the mental tools we use to plan, organize, manage time, and regulate emotions. When these skills are lagging, often seen in kids with ADHD, mood disorders, or learning differences, daily tasks like starting homework, remembering instructions, or managing frustration can feel overwhelming.
Our executive functioning coaches help youth develop strategies to manage tasks, set realistic goals, and stay on track, while learning how to reduce the stress of overwhelming responsibilities.

Psychological Assessment
A psychological assessment can be a powerful first step in understanding what a child or teen is experiencing beneath the surface. When mood challenges or symptoms of depression begin to affect daily life, school, or relationships, an assessment can help clarify what’s going on and identify any underlying emotional, behavioural, or cognitive factors. It not only provides insight into a child’s mental health, but also offers clear recommendations for support at home, at school, and through therapy.
