Learning Disability
Our team of clinicians and OCT Special - Education teachers have extensive experience supporting youth with learning disabilities and their families. We believe in working together to empower each child with the tools, strategies, and confidence they need to navigate school—and life—in a way that works for them. Some services may be covered by private insurance. If your child has a diagnosis of a learning disability, and a recommendation from a professional for tutoring services, you may be able to claim Targeted Academic Instruction as a medical expense on your taxes.
What is a Learning Disability?
At WonderTree, we understand that a learning disability (LD) is not a reflection of intelligence—it’s a difference in how the brain processes and organizes information. LDs can impact reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), or math (dyscalculia), as well as areas like memory, attention, and executive functioning. Children with LDs often need a different approach to learning—one that supports their strengths while meeting their learning needs with care and creativity.
Learning differently doesn’t mean learning less—it means finding the right way to learn.
WonderTree Services for Learning Disabilities
Child and Adolescent Therapy
Children with learning disabilities are often navigating systems that weren’t designed with their learning style in mind. Over time, this can lead to feelings of frustration, anxiety, low self-esteem, or a desire to avoid school altogether—not because they aren't capable, but because they haven’t been supported in the ways they need.
We offer psychotherapy with psychologists and social workers: family, individual, group, and parent coaching available.
