Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Our team of clinicians has extensive experience supporting youth with OCD and their families. We take a compassionate, collaborative approach, offering services that are individualized, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-informed practices. Many of our services are covered by private insurance.

What is Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is not simply about being neat or liking routines. It's a mental health condition where people experience intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and feel the need to carry out certain actions or rituals (compulsions) to relieve distress. These thoughts and behaviours are often distressing, repetitive, and hard to control—not something a person can simply "turn off."

At WonderTree, we recognize that OCD is not a character flaw or a choice. We aim to support youth in understanding their experiences with compassion, and in developing strategies that foster autonomy, self-awareness, and emotional wellbeing.

"OCD is not who you are. It’s something you experience — and with the right support, you can learn to navigate it on your own terms"

OCD can be distressing, confusing, and isolating for both children and families. Our mental health team provides compassionate, evidence-informed therapy and parent coaching to support self-understanding, reduce shame, and build coping tools.

We approach OCD with sensitivity to each child’s developmental stage and use practices aligned with neuro-affirming care.

Our clinicians provide Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with exposure and response prevention (ERP) and Inference based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
