Meet the Team
Dr. Stephanie Lavoie, C. Psych
Clinical/Neuro Psychologist
Director
(she/her)
I am deeply passionate about supporting families who are navigating complex challenges—especially when it feels like the system isn’t built for their child. As a clinical neuropsychologist, I’ve worked for many years with children and teens who have layered needs, from neurodevelopmental differences to medical and emotional complexities. Over time, it became clear to me that many families were falling through the cracks—and that sparked the vision for WonderTree.

Here, we created a space where care can be flexible, compassionate, and grounded in evidence. I provide both assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents with a range of profiles, including autism, ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, mood concerns, emotion regulation challenges, and neurological conditions* (e.g.,epilepsy, stroke, and genetic disorders).

My therapy style is warm and integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). I’m here to walk alongside families as we better understand their child’s strengths and challenges, and find a path forward together.
Outside of the clinic, I engage in teaching as an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University, and I am a member of the McMaster Autism Research Team. Personally, I am a mother to three young children, with personal experience navigating IEPs, testing, the medical system, and child advocacy as a parent.
*I do not provide medicolegal/MVA assessments
