Meet the Team
With my passion for supporting children, youth and the family system as a whole, I aim to create a safe and supportive environment within therapy to explore challenges, highlight strengths and develop strategies to cope. As a trauma-informed and identity affirming Social Worker, I have experience supporting children and youth with mental health struggles, trauma, substance use, self-esteem issues and neurodivergent youth (Austim & ADHD). With an understanding of social determinants of health and intersectionality, I also explore system barriers and the intersections of identity such as race, gender and sexuality from an anti-oppressive lens.
In my treatment approach, I meet an individual where they are at and incorporate techniques from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and I provide specific trauma treatment to children and youth using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which is intended to have caregiver involvement.
I have worked with children, youth and families within mental health and addiction services, the community non-profit sector and in school boards providing school-based counselling.
Outside of therapy, you will find me hiking or connecting with nature, listening to a podcast, baking some sweet treats and spending quality time with my loved ones.
